Top 5 from 2012

Thanks so much to everyone who left me some feedback on the blogging questions I posted.  You really left some great comments and I appreciate each and every one.  If you missed the post you're more than welcome to add your two cents too.  :-)
Sounds like the majority of us are in the same frame of mind about Facebook.  hee hee  I might post a few things on there from time to time, but the majority of my posting will remain here on my blog.  It's really rather a relief to not have to add another place to try to keep up with commenting.  I do share sales and some Splitcoast Stamper info on my FB from time to time if you want to friend me for those posts.  You can find me under my name.

I played along with Debby's Top 5 Christmas cards and now it's time for
You can visit Debby's wonderful blog for all the details and the linky to play along PLUS there's candy up for grabs again.

It was pretty tough to pick out five cards.  I've made a TON this past year, but have really been truly happy with very few.  I could have made this whole post another Mo showcase, but I wanted to show some of the other companies I've enjoyed working with too.

Here's one from my DT time with A Day For Daisies.

This card was made for The Kraft Journal using a Birdie Brown image.  I am TOTALLY (as my regulars know) in love with Torico's super cute images.

This card was made for a Guest Designer spot at Copic Marker Europe.  Had to get at least one more Mo image in there.  hee hee

This was the first card I made as a member of the There She Goes Clear Stamp team this year.  In case you didn't know, I'm a HUGE chicken collector.  Got two more glass ones for Christmas.  YAY!

I made this card for my best friend.  She and I did Weight Watchers a few years ago so this really has special meaning for us.  ☺  Getting back on that band wagon in one of my resolutions.  Ughhhh.  I'm a sweet-aholic so it's really tough to give that up not to mention getting my rump up from the crafting table to get some exercise.  Gotta do it though.  Onward!!!!!!!!

Pretty eclectic mix huh.  You're probably used to that here.  Hope you enjoyed the look back.
Here we come 2013!!!!!!!!!!

TSG #188 Sponging with Die Cuts

Aren't these blooms just lovely.  They're almost as beautiful as the bouquet my hubby gave me Friday for our anniversary.  I'll share a pic of those in a minute.
This card was created for the new challenge at There She Goes Clear Stamps which is "sponging with die cuts".  I used last weeks Mojo Monday sketch and cut my image out using a circle Nestie.  I embossed it and then used a couple of Distress inks to the "sponging".  I did the same for the sentiment.  Both the sentiment and the flowers are part of the "Forever" set you can find in the TSG store.
If you missed my previous post please click here and read it.  I'd love to have your opinion. ☺
     Here are my lovely flowers.

Happy New Year!

Supplies

  • Paper:  My Mind's Eye "Miss Caroline--Howdy Doody", Kraft Outlet Light kraft, Recollections, Copic XPress-it Blending card
  • Stamp:  There She Goes Clear Stamps "Forever"
  • Ink:  Copics; Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, and Frayed Burlap Distress inks
  • Tools:  Nestabilities Standard Circles and Scalloped Circles
  • Miscellaneous:  Offray ribbon, Hang Tag String, The Paper Studio button, Recollections pearls, lace from my stash

What do you think?

Hello my friends!  No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth.  I just really, REALLY needed to take a break from the computer for a while.
My hubby missed our trip in November because of work and he barely got any time off for Christmas, so I didn't want to miss spending what little time we could squeeze in together the last few weeks.  My daughter was also off work so we got to spend lots of quality time together.  Didn't want to miss out on that since she just got engaged and will most likely not be at home for any more Christmases.  :-(
So my apologies for not commenting on your blogs for the last couple of weeks.  My plan is to get back into the swing of things with the New Year.
I would love to have your opinion on a few things concerning my blog.  I want you to enjoy your visits here so if somethings bugging you I'd love to hear about it.

1.  I know the font I'm using for the body of my posts is a bit artsy.  Are you having trouble reading it?
2.  Anything you'd like to see me include or discard in the design?
3.  Anything else???????  I can't fix it if you don't let me know.  ☺

I'd also like your opinion on Facebook.  I didn't have one for the longest (hubby HATES it) but a couple of my design teams use it for photo uploading and DT communication so I got one.  I don't use it for personal posts or photos (other than craft stuff).  It is kind of neat for sharing info on sales and things like that though.
My question is--do any of you check FB more than blogs?  Would you prefer to follow my posts on FB rather than my regular blog.  I already struggle with trying to keep up my commenting on those of you who so faithfully leave me encouragement, newcomers, and my DT commenting duties, so adding another social media outlet for me to keep up with is not going to help in that area.  LOL  However, since I already have the crazy thing I wouldn't mind posting there too.
Just wanted to pick your brains on a few things.  The New Year always makes me want to get more organized so that's where this is coming from.  ☺
Oh yeah!  I have a blogaversary coming up in February and I plan on giving away some candy.  Do ya'll like actual physical product candy or do you prefer gift vouchers?
Okay I'll leave you alone now.  hee hee  I'll have a There She Goes card posting tomorrow and will be visiting soon.
     Big hugs!

My Five Favorite Christmas Cards

Debby of A Scrapjourney started her

fun today.
She's giving away some blog candy (yummy stuff!) if you'd like to play along.
I think you'll see that I'm a bit partial to the Mo's Digital Pencil cards I made this year.
I just love coloring them so much.
Here are my faves in no particular order (that would be impossible! ☺)

The Carolers which you can find in this post.

A Taste of Winter found here.

Penguin with Gift posted here.

Shall I Play For You found here.

These little fairies are just amazing and I'm sure I'll be coloring them up again and again.
You can find the post for this card here.

I really need a second list of five for my more clean and simple cards
cause I love a bunch of them too.
If you want to play along go to Debby's blog and follow her directions.  It's super simple.
Merry Christmas!

Last minute Christmas

There are still challenges going on in the card making world for any of you who have the spare time to play.  Today's new theme at There She Goes Clear Stamps is "Last Minute Christmas Cards".  I've used images from the "Penguin Pals" set to create this sweet little card using another one of Karen Giron's fabulous Sweet Sunday Sketches.  Copics coloring, some iridescent paint and sparkly Stickles for some fun accents.  So if any of you are making any last minute cards we'd love to see them.  And guess what!  There's a sale going on at TSG!

Looks like our Christmas day is going to be a nasty one.  We are right smack in the middle of the Gulf Coast States expected to see severe weather including tornadoes so please pray for our safety my friends.
     Merry Christmas Eve!

Stocking Teddy

Wow, only four days until Christmas!  This year really has just flown by hasn't it.  Are you done with your shopping?  Is the tree trimmed and Christmas dinner planned?  I still have a few little things left to buy but actually managed to slow down enough this year to just enjoy.
I do have a little tag to share with you today using Whimsy and Stars Studio's "Stocking Teddy".  He was a freebie with purchase during our last blog hop.  I hadn't used my Prismas in ages so I got them out along with some kraft paper and colored this little guy up.  I'm not so good with my pencils but if you want to see someone who is check out my friend Jane at Box of Colours with projects like this one.
I'm not quite sure if he's a prezzie or if he's hiding out trying to catch Santa coming down the chimney.  ☺
Hope you enjoyed my posts this week.  Things are going to be pretty quiet here on my blog for the rest of the year.  Just a couple more posts and then 2013 here we come!  I'll have an official Merry Christmas post next week, but if for some reason some of you might not make it back around then I'll go ahead and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  May your day be blessed with the love and joy of family and friends.
I'd like to enter this little guy in a few challenges:

2012 Mo Fave

Some of you may remember this card from earlier this year.  This week at Mo's Digital Pencil we're sharing our fave Mo card of the year.  Well, picking this one wasn't exactly easy.  I do love those sailor boys and the babies, and .......well you know what I mean.  Mo images are just fabulous!
I finally decided on this one cause I love the dots on her dress and the shading on the peach.  Silly reasons I know, but I like them.
So we want to see your faves too.  This challenge will run for two weeks and be the last one for the year.  Join in our fun and maybe you'll be our $5.00 Mo's store gift voucher winner.
I'll have another post today with my final TSG sneak peek of the new sets.
     Be blessed!

TSG December Releases Sneak Peek--Day 2

It's Day 2 of our sneak peeks of the new releases from There She Goes Clear Stamps.

Melyssa is back today with a set that is Tooth Fairy Approved! Whether congratulating your child for losing a tooth, scrapbooking the loss of a tooth, or leaving a note for the tooth fairy, you have so many options for them all!

Tooth Fairy Approved is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 17 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

For my project I created a little bag to hold those lost teeth in.  I stamped on the muslin bag with Memento Tuxedo Black and used my Copics to color in the adorable little fairy.  I also added some Stickles to her wings, wand, and crown.  I stamped the sentiment too and you can see the stamp I used on the back of the bag in the photo below.  The bag looks kind of discolored but it's not.  I shoved the rest of the pink lace in it to give it some shape.
I also created a tag to go along with the bag using the frame stamp and that cute little winged tooth.  The back of the tag as shown below was stamped with a sentiment, the journaling section, and a fun Tooth Fairy seal so each tooth can be kept track of.  Super cute huh!

Would you like to win the new Tooth Fairy Approved stamp set? Here is what you need to do-visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. Winter Bear

Linda wants to see tags for the latest Catered Crop challenge so this was a perfect opportunity for me to play with another Birdie Brown image.  This is Winter Bear with Cup.  I created my tag with a base of black and a mat of green which is really hard to see in this photo but not IRL.  I then used some kraft cardstock and embossed it with snowflakes.  I inked the raised parts with white ink and then added pearl Perfect Pearls and some white embossing powder around the edges.  I used my Chevron dies to create the strips across the center and colored Mr. Bear with Copics.  The sentiment is from Birdie Brown too.
Lots of tags are being created right now for gifts so if you've got one hop over to the CC blog and link it up.  There's a Freckled Fawn prize up for grabs!

The Whimsy and Stars Studio Blog Hop is still running through tomorrow.
You can find my post for it here.
The amazing Tracy Payne was way ahead of me in votes at Fashionista, but if you still haven't
voted  and would like to add a few more to my card I'd sure love it.  ☺  You guys are the best!

Have you noticed how many penguin stamps and images are out there this year?  I love this little fellow called "Penguin with Gift" from Mo's Digital Pencil and I've used him on my DT card for this week's "Anything Goes" challenge at DP2.  Wonder if there are fish in that present?  LOL
Lots of layers and a bit of black to compliment Mr. Penguin.  For the snowflake I first covered it with gesso and then lightly added some modeling paste for texture.  The finishing touches were a little Stickles and a shiny rhinestone.
Since it's the first challenge of December you can use any Mo image you have to play along.  Hope to see your creation in the entries!  There's a $5.00 voucher up for grabs.
