Cherry bling

Our DT Sistah Kim wants us to "Bling" it up this week at Mo's Digital Pencil.  I sure hope you're hopping over to the DP2 blog each week to see what the team is doing cause there have been some amazing inspiration projects.
For my card I decided to use "Cherry".  I tried a different hair color combo for her and I'm not overly happy with how it turned out, but I'll know better next time.  I've used a combination of several types of bling on this card and really REALLY enjoyed pulling out all the goodies and playing.
There's Stickles sparkle on the dress, corner die cut, around the image and sentiment, and on the rolled flowers.  I added large pearls in the corners and smaller ones as the centers of the tiny flowers.  The cherries in the basket have a coating of Glossy Accents and the two fishtail banners under the image are edged in Antique Gold Rub 'n Buff.
Pull out all your blingy goodies and a Mo image and play along with this week's challenge for a chance at $5.00 worth of Mo goodness from the store.
This is the last day to sign up for my blogaversary candy!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Deep Ocean Challenge Guest Designer

I was so excited a few weeks back when my friend and Mo team mate Franz asked if I would like to be a Guest Designer at Deep Ocean Challenge.  Of course I said yes.  ☺
The challenge theme is "For a Boy" so I decided to use this wonderful Mo Manning image called "Dream".  You can get this image in a girl form too.  I colored him up with Copics and then decided to try to do a little out of the box and out of my comfort zone card design.
I love these Simple Stories papers for boy cards.  They have full sheets of patterned paper and then some in the back of the pad that can be cut apart for tags or whatever.  One of the back sheets had the mat with faux washi tape tabs and I thought it would make a great background for my little pilot to be.  The second panel was cut on one side using TH's File Folder die for a fun tab.  I embossed and inked the strip of kraft and every piece got a trim of black.
The banner pieces were cut from the tips of the largest star from a Sizzix die.  I used an 1/8" hole punch to make holes for the hemp cord.  The gears are from a TSG stamp set.  I printed them out on cardstock then adhered them to grunge board and cut then out.  Next I covered them with silver chunky embossing powder.  After that was melted I added a sprinkling of Vintage Photo Distress ink to age them.  My Crop-a-dile does not like the American Crafts eyelets I used.  The top two as you can see are rather misshapen, but at least they match.  LOL
Hope you like the card.  It was a blast to get to play along with Franz and the rest of the Deep Ocean Team.  Thanks so much for having me as your guest.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I'm your huckleberry

I think the new "Giddy Up" set from TSG is just so darned tootin' fun!  Had to play with some more of these fabulous stamps for the new challenge at There She Goes Stamps.  This was a toughie for me.  Our challenge theme is to case one of our Trendsetters.  I'm terrible at casing but fairly decent at copying.  LOL  Here's the cute card from our fabby DT leader Jessie Rone that I chose to case.  Now let me tell you, trying to choose one card to case from among this design team is pretty darned hard.  The team is filled with awesome card makers.  I settled on Jessie's cause her paper piercing caught my eye and I loved the fun use of the chevrons on her card.  Here's her version and my inspiration.

My colors are much more subdued and I used a totally different style of image, but I like how it turned out.
We'd love to have you play along by casing one of our Trendsetters.  Ha! Ha!  Good luck just finding one.  ☺
I'd like to enter this card into the Twisted Tuesday piercings with buttons or brads challenge and Marker Pops embellish with buttons challenge.
Just a few more days left to get in on my blogaversary candy draw.
     Be blessed!

TSG February new release sneak peek 2

If you missed my Mo's Digital Pencil post for today please click here.

Here's the second new release for this month and YEEHAW it's a rootin' tootin' cast of characters.

Cowboys and western themes are all the rage right now, and we wanted IN on this super popular trend….and boy did Torico deliver!! Our new Giddy Up set is so fun, you’ll be roped in!

Giddy Up is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 26 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

I had to give this here cow poke some horses and leather.  I mean he is a cowboy after all.  The "leather" strip is grunge paper that I ran through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder and inked with distress ink.  It even feels like leather.
Would you like to win the new Giddy Up  stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.
You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday, February 23rd with the winner being announced during the release party chat.

Supplies:  Paper--Cosmo Cricket "Wanted", Kraft Outlet Light Kraft and chipboard, Tim Holtz Grunge Paper, Copic XPress-it Blending card; Stamp--There She Goes Clear Stamps "Giddy Up"; Ink--Copics, Vintage Photo Distress ink; Tools--Martha Stewart Flourish border punch, EK Success Corner rounder, MFT Die-namics Mini Tab die, Cuttlebug Damask embossing folder; Miscellaneous--Recollections brads, Spare Parts brads, Kraft Outlet Earthy Hemp Cord

Cure for the common cold

I think this poor fellow is looking a bit like several of my bloggie friends have been feeling lately.  This is "Beary Sick" from Mo's Digital Pencil and I've used him for our "Anything but a square" challenge this week at DP2.
My original plan was to make everything about him cozy.  He's dressed in his comfy night shirt and has his fuzzy slippers on.  I wanted to carry on the theme, so he got a sentiment about chicken soup and some tea on the inside of the card.  Perfect sickie food!
To further carry over the theme I wanted him to have a quilt.  Now I have done a wee bit of quilting myself (I'm too impatient to see the end result so my seam matching stinks LOL) but this paper quilting was much easier.  I so wish I could have gotten it to photograph better, but it's really more of a tactile thing anyway.  After stitching my DP at intervals I turned the panel over and used my large embossing tool to soften the centers of each square, then I added a pop dot in there.  I also added 1/8" Score Tape to the seams.  Once attached to the card base it makes those little squares puff up like they're stuffed.  It feels so cool when you run your fingers over it.
I added a 3/8" fold to the top of the card base so that there would be room enough on the inside for the tea bag and it's pocket.  There's also a little tag tucked in behind that says "Hope you feel better soon".

I'm not really sure why I went with the octagon shape.  Thy're all cut by hand.  Here's a side view that you might be able to see the little pillows with.  I used the terry cloth and Colorless Blender technique for his fur to make him a bit fuzzy.

We'd love to have you come join in the challenge this week.  Just grab one of your Mo images and create something that's NOT square.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Little Red Wagon--totally teddies
Bearly Mine--lace, ribbon, twine
Craft Room Challenge--something for a man
Crafty Sentiments--fancy fold or not swuare
Deep Ocean--the letter "b" (bear, buttons, bow, bunny slippers, bag of tea)
Use It Tuesday--fasteners (I raided my huge tub on buttons for this one)
Kaboodle Doodles--anything but square
Make It Monday--anything goes

Stylin' birthday

Today's a very special day.  My baby girl turns 22 today!  Boy does time fly.  She's such a beautiful person, inside and out and I couldn't be prouder.  She got a Uptown Girl for Valentine's and she's getting another one for her birthday.  This is "Posh has a present".
Splitcoast Stampers is having a huge Members Company Love Fest with all their sponsor companies.  There's a different challenge every day and Stamping Bella's challenge happens to be "Bring on the Bling".  That means glitter, gems, or metallic.  I went a bit crazy with the Stickles on this one.  The corner dies are covered as well as parts of the image, the flourish, and the sentiment.  I scattered a few pearls around and found that yummy Prima flower in my stash.  It already had some Diamond Dust on it, but I added some more.  I had the little butterfly left over from another project so I popped it on the flower.  The leaves are die cut, colored with Copics and inked.  The ribbon was white seam binding that I colored with Tattered Rose Distress Stain and ruched for some girly frou frou.
A special hello and thank you to my new followers.  I hope you enjoy your visits.

**Check out my blogaversary candy!  **

Marigold thoughts

All this week at There She Goes we've been spotlighting some past cards made by our Trendsetters from the "Bloom", Forever", and "Sweet Pea" sets.  Hope you got a chance to see them cause they were gorgeous!  You can find them all in the TSG store.  Today we're showcasing new cards the team has created using these sets.
I chose this gorgeous marigold image from the "Bloom" set.  I colored it with Copics and then came back in with some yellow Stickles.
You've still got plenty of time to play along with out "flowers" challenge this week and you've also got lots of time left to sign up for my blogaversary candy.
     Have a wonderful weekend!

It's party time!

(My blogaversary candy signup is available through February 28th.)
Meet Penelope.  As you can see she's on  her way to somewhere special and that somewhere is the birthday challenge we're having this week at Mo's Digital Pencil.  Our lovely Tine has chosen a birthday theme for this week.  I started off with a whole different idea, image, design, everything!--for this card and totally switched gears to create this.  The image is called "Penelope's Party Wagon" and you can find it in Mo's store along with lots of other fun birthday images.
I created a frame using layered chipboard and cardstock for the image.  I have a couple of friends, awesome card designers, who are masters at using punched flowers--Debby4000 and sue-bearhouse.  I use to use lots of punched flowers myself and then got away from it cause I lacked the time so instead of getting my Mo card done way ahead like I did last week, I went a bit slower and played with tons of little punched flowers and leaves.  A special thanks to my friend Dilyana for the wonderful tutorial she posted recently on coloring curly heair.  It sure came in handy and worked like a charm.  The butterflies were punched from white, colored with a Copic to match and then embossed with a damask stamp and white embossing powder.  And look!  I finished the inside of this one too.  LOL

I've never really let it be known, but my cards are for sale if anyone is interested.  I know I'm preaching to the choir here since you're all cardmakers yourselves.  LOL  Just wanted to throw that out there.  I've just about convinced myself to open an Etsy store.  I'd love some feedback on that if any of you have any opinions, advice, pros and cons, etc.
Anyway, once again, the challenge theme is "birthday" so hop over to the DP2 blog to see all the inspiration from my team mates and to link up your cards for a chance to win a $5.00 gift certificate to Mo's store full of goodies.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

(You can find my Whimsy and Stars Studio Blog Hop post here
AND
my Blogaversary Candy post here)

Somebody call 911!  There's a heart thief on the loose!  LOL
I've made several Valentine cards the last couple of weeks and my hubby walked in while I was making the little mouse card with Lucy's Valentine.  He said "Awww is that for me?"  I said "No way!  You have to have something more manly and personal........so I made him a criminal! LOL  Now my hubby is no criminal , but he did steal my heart almost 28 years ago.  I don't normally decorate the insides of my cards, but this one needed a reply.

It's an "Anything Goes" challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil.  The thief image is called "Stole My Heart" and is one of the newer images in Mo's store.  I added a tag in behind the image and covered a couple of chipboard hearts with some of the DP.  I think my hubby will like this better than the mouse.  ☺

Momma always said

(You can find my Whimsy and Stars Studio blog hop post here)

Can you tell I had a little play time on my hands again?  LOL  Yep, another Uptown Girl and everything but the kitchen sink as you can see by my supply list.
You might be wondering where the green came from.  Well, originally I had planned on paper piecing her dress with some tiny black and white polka dotted paper.  The white dots had a soft green ring around them so I was matching that.  Then I moved the cut out dress off and liked the look of the white dress better.  I was pretty happy with the coloring, so the green stayed.  LOL
All the polka dots are for this weeks recipe challenge at the Catered Crop.  The DT took a little break but we're back with this challenge.  You can hop over to the blog and check out all the inspiration from my team mates.
I've used some more of my newer goodies.  The corner dies are from Susana's Custom Art and Card Designs and see that little birdcage?  There's one just like it in my Blogaversary Candy.  Some of you have left comments after signing up, which was not required but oh so appreciated and uplifting.  Kjersti left me this sweet one on my Whimsy blog hop post:  "Love your cards Tracy, they are made to make people happy - thanks:)".  I hope my cards do make you happy, smile, or even giggle a bit cause THAT makes me happy.
If you've been around here any length of time you'll know that finishing the inside of a card is not the norm for me, but this one's for my bestie and I needed to complete the sentiment.

So break out those polka dots and come play along!

It's my blogaversary!

A while back I mentioned that I had a blogaversary coming up that I wanted to offer up some candy for.  Today's the Day!!!!  I've been blogging for three years and it's been fantastic!  Here's a HUGE hug to all the friends I've made along the way.
I've gathered up a few things to give away to one of my wonderful followers.  As you can see I was in a girly mood when I put this together.  Must be the month or something.  ☺
I wish I could offer more, but as I'm sure you've noticed, shipping costs have skyrocketed--again.

Here are the goodies I've put together:

Stamping Bella "Uptown Girl POSH has a present" mounted stamp
My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found--Blush" paper pad
Simon Says Stamp "String of Hearts" steel die
Poppy Stamps "Vintage Bird Cage" steel die
3 packages of mulberry roses
3 bundles of vintage lace

     And here are the rules:
1.  This is a follower candy so you MUST be a follower of my blog.  If you're new here, please don't join just for the candy, but because you like my work.
2.  ABSOLUTELY NO Candy Only blogs!
3.  I would really appreciate it if you would place my candy with a link in your sidebar, but it is not mandatory.
4.  Add your name to the linky
The candy will be open through February 28th and I'll announce a winner on March 1st.  This year is just whizzing by!
     Good Luck!

TSG #193 photo inspiration

It's time for a new challenge at There She Goes and this week we have a photo inspiration for you to use from our uber-talented Sandra.

As you can see I picked out the colors, hearts, and even the word LOVE on the little pillow to incorporate into my card.  It's been quite a while since I did any paper piecing but I decided to give it a whirl on the tree.  Yikes!  I didn't realize how many "top" hearts there are on there.  And yes I did cut each and every one out plus the tree trunk.  You can see it a bit better in this pic.

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a card or project with the inspiration photo, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (February 11th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!
By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)
You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG193 so we can check out your beautiful work!
