Just a note . . .

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  It's a bit soggy here again,
It's Monday so it's time for a new challenge at There She Goes.  Our hostess with the mostest this week is Tangii and she wants to see "April Showers Bring May Flowers" themed cards.  So water or flowers, take your pick or use both.  I've used one of the What's Up Buttercup set images and sentiments.
Don't ask me where this design came from.  It started out as a simple kitty corner CAS card and some how I worked a chipboard postage stamp frame and some whatchamacallits in the corners.  The matted paper was embossed and then sanded.
Hope over to the TSG blog and link up you creation for the new challenge.
     Happy Monday!

Supplies:  Paper--We R Memory Keepers "Hall Pass"; Recollections, Kraft Outlet chipboard, Copic XPress-it Blending card; Stamps--There She Goes Clear Stamps "What's Up Buttercup"; Ink--Copics; Tools--Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Embossing folder, Sizzix Postage Stamp Frames; Miscellaneous--Recollections brads, Celebrate It ribbon, Michaels wooden button, Kraft Outlet Hang Tag String

Just smile

Like the title says . . . just smile!  You have to because all those April showers bring us tons of beautiful blooms just like the one Lolly has in her pot.
It was so gorgeous here today.  We had the doors open (after hubby finished cutting the grass) and the fans going.  Everything is greening up.  It's just my favorite time of year.  I was a bit ahead on DT commitments so I decided to have a little play time.  I love the Sketch Saturday sketches and rarely miss a week of not using one on one of my projects.  This card used the new one that just posted today.
Most of my cards this week have been fairly CAS, but I pulled out a few gadgets and goodies for this one.  Lots of die cuts and some glittery Stickles for her rain coat.  For the umbrella I used a Prismacolor fine line marker after I'd colored it with Copics to add the red dots.  Then I went back in with a white gel pen and dotted each one.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday--sketch
7 Kids College Fund--April Showers
Simon Says Stamp--anything goes
Make It Monday--anything goes
Marker Pop--April Showers

Hope Lolly makes you smile and that you have a wonderful weekend!

Supplies:  Paper--My Mind's Eye "Jack and Jill", Recollections, Copic XPress-it Blending card; Stamps--Stamping Bella "Lolly and Her Brolly", sentiment from There She Goes Clear Stamps "Oh Snap"; Ink--Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black, Prismacolor Red Fine Line Marker, Sakura white gel pen; Tools--Sizzix Decorative Corners, EK Success Retro Flower punches, Tim Holtz On the Edge File Tabs die, Memory Box Tender Leaves  and Classic Scallop dies, MFT Die-namics Fancy Flourish, sewing machine; Miscellaneous--Diamond Stickles, Frayed Burlap Distress Stickles, Glossy Accents, Recollections pearls

TSG April New Release Blog Hop Day 4

Welcome to the last day of the April new release blog hop at TSG!

Jessica and Tobi have been hard at work creating an AMAZING new set for us, Chalkboard Memories. If you are familiar with the VERY popular Chalkboard Technique, this set was created for that particular style!! It is full of SUPER cute images, and FABULOUS sayings…and the chalkboard itself? Fantastic!

Chalkboard Memories is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 18 stamps and will sell for
$18.00. The new stamps will be available on Saturday, April 27th at 11pm.

For my card I framed the stamped image with some chipboard stars I colored to match.  They were sprayed with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and then edged in gold Rub-n-Buff.  Kinda got a school theme going here so this could be used for a teacher OR student.  Here's a close up to show the sparkle a bit better.

Would you like to win the new stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.
You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday, April 27th with the winner being announced during the release party chat.

Supplies:  Paper--We R Memory Keepers "Hall Pass", Recollections, Georgia Pacific, Kraft Outlet chipboard; Stamp--There She Goes Clear Stamps "Chalkboard Memories"; Ink--Copics; Tools--EK Success corner rounder, Sizzix Stars #2, MFT Die-namics Chevrons; Miscellaneous--Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist, Antique Gold Rub'n'Buff

Hello Baby!

Oh what a week.  Between a pinched nerve and a stomach bug I have not been up to snuff at all.  Hope all of you are in much better shape.
Our sweet Franz is bringing us a theme of "Pastels" for the new challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil.  I have to admit at first I wasn't concerned, but as I tried to put the card together I began to panic.  Nothing seemed to work.  The only thing I liked was the colored baby image.  There are three layers of paper piecing on that umbrella cause I kept changing my mind.  LOL  I finally just grabbed several My Mind's Eye papers in soft pinks and here we are.  I cut a length of pink tulle and sewed it through the center for gathering to add on top of the Prima flower.  I know it's rather CAS, but honestly I have not been in a very crafty mood and all the bells and whistles ideas just didn't come into play.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Moving Along with the Times--baby
Crafty Creations--pink plus one color
Simon Says Stamp--anything goes
Whimsy Inspirations--pink
Cupcake Craft--monochromatic
Make It Monday--anything goes
I Heart Sketches--sketch
Great Impressions--pastels and/or polka dots

Hope you all got a chance to do the blog hop and check out all the great inspiration with the new spring stamps.  Grab a Mo image and some pastel colors and come play along for your chance to win a $5.00 gift voucher from Mo's store in this new challenge.

Shiver Me Timbers is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 24 stamps and will sell for $24.00. The new stamps will be available on Saturday, April 27th at 11pm.

I’m sure it comes as NO surprise to all you loyal There She Goes fans, but we couldn’t go without creating a companion set to go along with this SUPER fun set!! Leave it to the Trendsetters to come up with so many FUNNY and AWESOME sentiments that one set just couldn’t hold them all.

Ship Happens is a  3x4 set that includes a total of 9 stamps and will sell for $9.00. The
new stamps will be available on Saturday, April 27th at 11pm.

I found some pirate themed papers in one of my 12 x 12 paper pads and used a piece of the tresure map sheet.  I created the little scene by mixing papers and die cuts with the stamped images.

All kinds of happiness

There She Goes has been showcasing some awesome cards this week from a few of the older stamp sets.  I used one set for the challenge inspiration card I shared Tuesday and today I've used another for our New Trendsetter cards.
The image is from the "Blossom By Blossom" set.  I colors it with the sherbet hues in the papers.
Thank you so much for all the support for yesterdays Mo blog bop.  Hope you participated and got a chance to check out all those amazing cards from both teams.
Thanks also for all your wonderful words about my Girlfriends cards.  The couch one won Top Honors at Art Impressions which won me the whole set of new Girlfriend releases.  Hope you won't mind seeing more of those crazy girls.  For those of you who wanted to know which one I am, I guess I would pick the one in the rollers.  The hair needs to be dark brown, but I did used to roll my hair in curlers as a kid trying to tame some of my natural curl.  LOL  Lasted about five minutes.
     Have a fabulous Friday!

Supplies:  Papers--My Mind's Eye "Sweet Girl", Recollections, Georgia Pacific, Copic XPress-it Blending card; Stamps--There She Goes Clear Stamps "Blossom By Blossom"; Ink--Copics; Tools--Memory Box Fluffy Clouds and Classic Scallop dies, MFT Die-namics Fishtail Banners, sewing machine; Miscellaneous--Kraft Outlet Hang Tag String, button from my stash, Diamond Stickles

Life is Brighter

Normally I would have posted this card yesterday with the start of the new challenge at There She Goes.  However, I did all those TSG projects last week and then got caught up with those crazy Girlfriends that I just had to take a little break.  So here I am today with my card for TSG.  This week we want to see you "Just Because" cards.  You know, a card to say hi or what's up.  No special occasion, just because you can.
I've used am image and sentiment from the "Lighten Up" set paired with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.  I'm not totally happy with the card.  I think it needed a little something else, but frankly after I turned on the TV and saw what had happened in Boston I kind of lost my desire to craft.
Older Trendsetter cards from this stamp set and two others are being featured on the blog this week and on Friday I'll be back with another brand new card using one of the sets to share with you.
Hope you have a great Tuesday.  Let's keep all those touched by yesterdays tragedy in our thoughts and prayer.

Supplies:  Papers--My Mind's Eye "Sunshine", Bazzill, Recollections, Copic XPress-it Blending card; Stamps--There She Goes Clear Stamps "Lighten Up"; Ink--Copics; Tools--Nestabilities Standard Circles, MFT Die-namics Sentiment Strips; Miscellaneous:  Kraft Outlet Hang Tag String, Wal-mart button, Kaisercraft rhinestones

This is how we roll!

I'm soooo bad.  I really had another project that I needed to be working on but I had stamped this second Girlfriends image and after all the fun I had coloring the first one I just couldn't leave this one sitting uncolored on the table.  LOL  Hey, I'll use whatever excuse necessary.
Started coloring on this last night and finished up the card today with lots of glam and glitter for these starlettes.  I created a frame mat for the image and added some bling around the edges.  My roll of Tim Holtz film strip has really come in handy lately as you can see I stuck a piece of it across the lower section of the card.  I die cut the stars from acetate and then glittered them.  I had as much fun as these gals look like they're having.  I guess I got the cards out of order since I imagine the couch scene came AFTER their night out.  hee hee
Today starts a new challenge at the Catered Crop and Linda wants to see "Glitter".  Hope you'll pop over and play.
I'm going to pop this card in the AI Girlfriends challenge.
It's the start of a new week.  Hope it's fabulous for each and every one of you!

Supplies:  Paper--My Mind's Eye "Rosey", Recollections, Copic XPress-it Blending card, acetate; Stamp--Art Impressions "Uptown Girls"; Ink--Copics; Tools--Sizzix Stars #2, MFT Die-namics Sentiment Strips; Miscellaneous--Glossy Accents, Sakura gold and silver gel pens, Bronze Perfect Pearls, Recollections glitter, Tim Holtz Film Strip, bling from my stash

Hangin' Out

If you missed my scrapbook layout for TSG Stampbook Saturday
that posted earlier today, you can click here.

It's super quiet in bloggie land today, but if you're like me, you've been outside soaking up the sun and greenery of spring. Ahhhhhhhhh......  I just popped back inside for a drink of cold water and thought I'd go ahead and post this card while I was here.
I ADORE the Girlfriends!!!!!!!!!!!  These ladies from Art Impressions Stamps just crack me up and they are so much fun to color.  AI is having a special "Girlfriends" challenge this week and my wonderful friends at City Crafter Challenge are celebrating their third birthday.  Thought Kirsty and the gals might like this one.  I'd also like to enter this in the challenges at:

Stampin' for the Weekend--friendship
Papercraft Star--use a stamp
Marker Pop--anything goes

I usually make 5.5" x 5.5" cards but had to go to a 6" x 6" for this one cause the stamp itself is 5.5" wide.  It's CAS but you really don't want to take too much away from this bunch of cackling hens.
The sentiment comes from AI.  I don't have the stamp for it so I just printed it out from my computer and added the Happy Birthday part.  Their stamp is a lot more elaborate.
Hope these girls give you a laugh when you come in from however you spent your Saturday.  I'm going back out to do some weeding and give my car a bath.
     Happy spring Saturday!

Supplies:  Paper--My Mind's Eye "Handsome Boy", Bazzill, Recollections, Copic XPress-it Blending card; Stamp--Art Impressions "Comfy On Couch"; Ink--Copics; Tools--sewing machine; Miscellaneous--Michael's ribbon, flower, and button; Kraft Outlet Hang Tag String

TSG Stampbook Saturday

Today I have my final There She Goes project for this week, my Stampbook Saturday creation.  Though I started out as a scrapper I rarely find the time to do it anymore so this project was a major undertaking.  LOL
A special thanks to my sweet friend Jinny Newlin.  If you've never visited Jinny's blog and soaked up her amazing cards and scrapbook layouts you really need to pop over there.  She inspires me constantly with her amazing layout ideas.  She also helped me out with some tips for trying to get my pages photographed decently.  Not the greatest results but they're better than the first ones I took thanks to Jinny.  LOL
I decided to do a two page spread using the photos I took on the trip my mom and I took to the local botanical gardens back in March

Here's a closer look at the first page.

One of the sources Jinny uses for her great layouts is Sketches in Thyme.  I was able to find one there that would let me utilize such a large number of photos and thankfully the lady in the camera department at Wally World showed me how to print them out in wallet size so they'd all fit.  Here's what the sketch looked like.

I decided to use some wood planking for the first section to simulate wooden planters and edging.  For the next section I added some stitching and dug out my modeling paste and a chicken wire template to add some fun texture.  I used three of the sentiment stamps from the TSG "Oh Snap" set on this page.  The bottom layer was made using a Martha Stewart punch.  I did it once in white and a second time in a pale blue vellum and overlapped them.

     Here's the second page.

Same basic construction with two more of the sentiment stamps, the one near the photos and the little "Date Taken" on on the ticket.  Used a Kraft Outlet tea dyed tag and added a rub on on it.  The journaling spot and the other designer paper elements are from Kaisercraft's "Utopia" collection.  I had just grabbed a mix of papers at Michaels that caught my eye color wise and the Kaisercraft papers just happened to match.  I found the Sizzix die I did the title lettering with on clearance at Mike's too.

I love these sentiment stamps.  They would work so perfectly on ANY layout.  Don't you just love versatility.  Hope you enjoyed my projects for this week.  You still have time to enter the "Blue/Yellow/Neutral" challenge if you haven't yet.  Thanks for stopping in!

ABC Friday at TSG

It's ABC Friday at There She Goes today.  That means the project I have to share with you is Anything But a Card.  I've had these huge clothes pins in my stash for a while now just waiting to be altered.  Since I wanted to make them picture clips I thought this would be the perfect time to make one with my camera trend idea from Wednesday plus I managed to include some blue and yellow from the challenge too.  LOL

I used some black cardstock and papers from the My Mind's Eye "Dilly Dally" collection to cover the clothes pin.  I stamped and colored the camera, fussy cut it  and popped it up on top of the clothes pin with some Tim Holtz film strip behind it.  I used one of the push pins and sentiments from the stamp set and added them to the top portion of the clothes pin.  Easy peasy and lots of fun.  The photo is my great grandparents with my aunt and my mom shortly after she was born in Galveston.
I'll be back tomorrow with my last project for the week, my Stampbook Saturday.  See ya then!

Sewing seeds of kindness

This card was such a joy to make!  I have to give partial credit to my friend Heidy because she really inspired me with her card version of this little imp.  You can view it here.
Our challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil is brought to us by our super talented Debbie who wants to see "Things with Wings".  The image is called "Fairy Needle" and she is beyond precious!
I pulled out some Prima papers with lovely sunflowers (yes, blue and yellow again LOL).  The little wooden butterflies are from Michael's.  I punched two Martha Stewart Cosmo flowers, colored their centers with a Copic to match, and added some gold microbeads that I died with Rust alcohol ink.  The corner piece is double layered cardstock covered in Crackle paint and Distress ink.  Lace, ribbon and a fun line of yellow buttons that my little friend helped me sew on finish up the card.

For the inside I used a pretty Create with TLC sentiment.  I kept thinking about sowing seeds of kindness while I was making this card.
Hope you'll come play along with us.  Just remember to use a Mo image and only one entry per person.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Wednesday Trends at TSG

It's Wednesday Trends time at TSG and I'm focusing on the trend of cameras and well.......all things photography related.  There is so much camera related stuff out there right now.  I've tried to capture a bit of it all on my card.  The Echo Park paper is full of antique cameras.  Gosh I hate to say that cause I recognize several of them.  LOL
My image is from the "Oh Snap" set from There She Goes and I've popped it up in the middle of a fabby Lil' Inkers Stitched Photo Frame.  I added a black mat behind the camera to simulate a Polaroid.  I also added some fun Tim Holtz film strip and of course the card wouldn't be complete without photo corners.  Just check out all the super cute retro cameras in this set!

I've only touched the tip of the iceberg.  There are little wooden camera embellishments; camera, film, and photo frame die cuts; camera centered paper lines like Bo Bunny's Mama-razzi2; charms... you name it.  Lots and lots of camera goodies to compliment this great stamp set.  Happy snappin'!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cards and More--add some metal
Sweet Stamps--more than one stamped image
Marker Pop--anything goes

     Be blessed!
